Moeldoko Responds to Allegations of Govt Meddling in Democrat Party

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko on Tuesday has denied allegations that points him to be involved in an alleged attempt to take over leadership in the Democrat Party which was previously made public by Democrat’s chairperson Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono or AHY.

He immediately addressed this issue while also quipping AHY’s leadership and to not take information personally. “My suggestion for a leader is to be a strong one. Don’t take things too personally or easily influenced or anything in between,” said Moeldoko in his virtual clarification on Monday, February 1.

AHY previously went public to suspect there had been attempts to forcefully take leadership in the party to pave the road for a 2024 presidential candidate and incriminated the Presidential Chief of Staff based on inside information he trusts.

Moeldoko denied it by saying that he often receives guests at his house and that they come from various backgrounds which some have come to him with stories about the condition within the Democrat Party.

“I just listen to them. I am actually concerned about the situation because I am also one of the many who loves Democrats,” said Moeldoko who claims President Jokowi does not know about this issue and regrets that AHY had suspected the State Palace of being involved in the matter.
