Luhut Satisfies IMF, World Bank; Goes Over Omnibus Law

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Financial Investment Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan consulted with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank in the United States, Monday, November 16,2020 In the conference, Luhut went over the Omnibus Law on Task Creation, to name a few.

” Today’s meeting in my opinion was extraordinary, as I was not expecting such a good response,” Luhut said on Tuesday, November 17.

In the conference, Luhut provided a description about the Job Development Law that was passed in October. According to Luhut, World Bank president David Malpass applauded the policy as it offers benefits to society.

Luhut likewise spoke about Indonesia’s Covid-19 control efforts and financial healing methods with officials from international organizations. The minister stated that the IMF praised Indonesia for effectively executing excellent fiscal discipline, so that in a time of crisis the state is able to release the stimulus without increasing the financial obligation burden substantially.

Not simply the IMF and the World Bank, Luhut also consulted with Preservation International CEO M. Sanjayan and a member of the United States Trade Representatives (USTR), Robert Lighthizer. In the meeting with Sanjayan, Luhut went over investment chances for carbon credit conservation and repair programs, both in seaside and terrestrial areas.

To the USTR, Luhut revealed his appreciation for the cooperation with the GSP Review, which was well-completed. The GSP extension, Luhut said, opens job chances for many SMEs in Indonesia.

Last but not least, Luhut met authorities from America’s Republican politician and Democratic Parties.
