LPSK Grants Compensation to Victims of Bali Bombings Totaling Rp7.8bn

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) handed over compensation money to 36 victims of the Bali bombing I and II totaling Rp7.8 billion.

The agency chairman Hasto Atmojo Suroyo said that in today’s handover, 215 people identified as victims of past terrorism by LPSK and BNPT (the National Counterterrorism Agency) would receive the compensation.

“Other victims of Bali bombings have received compensation money on December 16 or at the previous compensation handover in another city,” said Hasto in his statement, Thursday, February 4.

Apart from the victims of the bombings, LPSK also granted compensation money to one victim of the Poso shooting’s Operation Sadra Maleo.

The amount of compensation money was based on the scheme set by the Finance Ministry. In detail, the heirs of victims who died would receive Rp250 million, those with severe injuries got Rp210 million, those with moderate injuries got Rp115 million, and Rp75 million for victims with minor injuries.

According to Hasto, compensation money for victims of past terrorism would continue to be distributed yet the request was limited until June 2021. Thus, he appealed to the public who fell victims, especially to Bali bombings I and II, to immediately apply a request for compensation to the LPSK.

“People can reach BNPT or directly contact LPSK’s Whatsapp number at 0857-7001-0048,” said Hasto.
