Jokowi’s Son-in-law Visits PAN Chairman Ahead of Election

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – Bobby Nasution, the son-in-law of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, meets Monday with the chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan to ask for support as he is intent on vying in the Regional Election in Medan city, North Sumatra, which was slated to take place on December 9, 2020.

The party’s secretary-general, Eddy Soeparno, and chairman of the central executive board (DPP) Yandri Susanto also attended the meeting.

“Good luck for Bobby Nasution who will compete in the Medan regional election,” Eddy wrote in his Instagram account @eddy_soeparno and posted the photos of the meeting.

Yandri Susanto, meanwhile, said the meeting kicked off at around 10: 00 a.m. at the residence of Zulkifli Hasan.

“Bobby conveyed his intention to compete in the Medan election, asking for guidance,” Yandri told Tempo via phone call.

Eddy Soeparno added that he would ask the PAN regional election team to evaluate Bobby’s electability. However, he expressed optimism that his party would support the spouse of Jokowi’s daughter Kahiyang Ayu.

“But seeing that Bobby’s electability is rising progressively, I am optimistic that PAN will support him in the Medan election,” Eddy remarked.

Previously reported, Bobby Nasution met with a number of political figures, including Gerindra Party chief patron Prabowo Subianto in Kertanegara, South Jakarta.
