Job Creation Final Draft Undergo Changes Again; Govt Claims Substance Unchanged

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta The State Secretariat on Thursday stated that the changes in the number of pages in the final draft of the job creation law would not change its substance. Recent reports suggested that the controversial law has yet undergone another change from being 812 pages-long to 1,187 pages.

“The substance of the job creation law in the format that was prepared by the state secretariat [with 1,187 pages] is the same with the draft that was handed by the House of Representatives (DPR) to the President,” wrote State Secretary Pratikno in a written statement on October 22.

He claimed each and every page of the draft law that President Jokowi receives will have to be reformatted by the state secretariat before it is ready to be changed into law. Pratikno said the reformatting includes erasing typing mistakes and other technical errors.

The format used by the state secretariat is the legal format paper 21,59 x 35,56 cm and written with the size 12 ‘bookman old style’ font. Compared to the 812-page version of the job creation, the spaces between letters and the distance between Articles were also changed.
