Jakarta Tourist Destinations to Reopen Steadily

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta Head of Jakarta’s Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Cucu Ahmad Kurnia on Tuesday announced that the city’s tourist destinations will gradually be made available starting on June 13.

“This comes after the Jakarta governor Anies Baswedan enacted the transition from the large-scale social restriction to the new normal,” said Ahmad Kurnia on June 9.

The operations of these destinations must abide by the existing health protocols mentioned in the agency’s decree No.131/2020 which encourages tourist destination managers to limit the number of visitors by 50 percent.

The same decree mentions that museums and art galleries can start operations starting on June 8 with a deadline of July 2. Other tourist destinations in North Jakarta’s Kepulauan Seribu will also be available for the public from June 13 – July 2.

Meanwhile, indoor and outdoor destinations, which include wildlife zoo but not waterparks, can start its operations from June 20 – July 2.

The Tourism and Creative Economy Agency made it clear that sporting facilities such as the public pool will remain off-limits from visitations.
