Jakarta Deputy Comments on City’s PCR Swab Test Daily Average

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria claims that the city’s PCR swab tests during the COVID-19 pandemic had reached a daily average of 9,000 – 10,000 tests which in context is 45 percent of the total national swab tests.

“The number continues to grow with initially 5,000 tests that grew to 6,000 and 8,000 daily test average,” said Ahmad Riza on Monday, November 9. “The average testings are over WHO’s standard of 5,000-6,000 tests and is 45 percent of our national testing average.”

Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria also announced that the city administration is currently adding its test lab networks that amounts to 58 which in theory are able to test 16,711 specimens.

However, the Jakarta Deputy Governor did not provide a clear explanation on why the number of daily PCR tests had dropped to below 5,000 on Monday, November 9, where the city’s administration announced 539 new confirmed cases after testing 4,913 people.

Moreover, he claims the recent lengthy weekend holiday did not affect the number of PCR swab tests being conducted and that officials continue to conduct tests even under a national holiday.
