Jakarta Allows Residents Aged 18 and Over to Get COVID-19 Vaccines

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The Jakarta Health Agency confirmed that people aged 18 years and over could receive COVID-19 vaccines. This service is an attempt to push for mass vaccination.

The agency’s head of disease prevention and control unit, Dwi Oktaviani, said people who are domiciled or work in the capital city, including those without Jakarta ID cards, are eligible for the program.

“Only people aged 18 years and over can be vaccinated. This means there are no more vaccination stages for public service workers, no more restrictions. This is surely a great opportunity to speed up vaccination,” said Dwi in Jakarta today, June 11.

The central government, she went on, was determined to immediately expand the coverage of fully vaccinated people in an attempt to reduce virus transmission and achieve herd immunity.

“We want this opportunity to be optimized both for society and health workers,” Dwi remarked.

When asked about the locations, Dwi said her side had prepared all existing facilities providing vaccines, such as health community centers (Puskesmas), vaccination centers, and hospitals.

“People can register at the locations managed by vaccination facilities or directly visit places providing COVID-19 vaccination services by only presenting their ID cards and certificates of domicile,” Dwi said.
