Indonesia’s Daily Covid Cases Hit Record High of 57,049

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – Indonesia reported 57,049 new cases of Covid-19 as of noon February 15, Tuesday. This is the highest number of infections recorded over the course of 24 hours as the highly transmissible Omicron variant strikes the nation.   

The daily count is a new record, exceeding July’s peak when the Delta wave struck Indonesia. On July 15, 2021, Indonesia recorded over 56,000 new cases. 

To date, Indonesia’s total cases stood at 4,901,328 since the first patient was identified in March 2020.

Authorities also reported the deaths of 134 patients. Indonesia has now recorded 145,455 Covid deaths.

The government today also reported 26,747 new recoveries to bring the number up to 4,349,848 people.
