IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The Indonesian government set to implement the Covid-19 restrictions on micro-scale starting on February 9. This is to continue the community mobility restriction (PPKM) that has been running since January 11.
According to Health Mitigation Department Chief of Covid-19 Task Force, Alexander Ginting, the implementation of the micro-scale restriction aims to solve the unresolved problems arising during the previous PPKM.
“The problem is once the team of contact tracing came, who’s going to monitor those who are in isolation, who’s going to watch them in the quarantine,” Ginting said in an online discussion on Friday, Feb. 5.
In general, he went on, the Covid-19 mitigation regulation is nationally and regionally the same. But these matters often show up at the regional level. Therefore, the micro-scale PPKM, which will be in the form of a post system, will be applied until the regency level.
“The posts will accompany Puskesmas (community health unit) and tracing teams. So, those who are in isolation will definitely be quarantined for the exact 14 days. They must be watched,” he said.
Previously, the Covid-19 task force spokesperson Wiku Adisasmito said that the posts will be the centers of Covid mitigation command that will coordinate, manage, monitor, evaluate, and execute the Covid mitigation in each region.
He iterated the main priority of the posts will be boosting the change of people’s behavior, act as the public service, as the information center, and even strengthening the implementation of 3T (tracing, testing, treatment) in the villages during the micro-scale restriction.
“In principle, the posts [that will be] spread nationally will be functioned to ease the processes of the change of behavior, health and welfare improvement, as well as the economic recovery,” Wiku Adisasmito remarked.
The micro-scale Covid-19 restriction, also called PPKM Mikro will start on February 9, 2021.
