Indonesia Sets New Record for COVID-19 Daily Cases

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – Indonesia has set a new record for daily cases of coronavirus disease today, November 25, 2020. The National COVID-19 Mitigation Task Force reported 5,534 confirmed cases of the virus in the last 24 hours.

Based on the Health Ministry data as of 12: 00 p.m. today, the additional daily cases were obtained from the result of tests on 45,330 specimens. The country’s total tally thus reached 511,836.

The number of recoveries, meanwhile, increased by 4,494 people, driving the total to 429,807. The ministry also logged 114 new deaths related to the coronavirus disease, bringing the fatality to 16,225 cases.

According to the data by the task force, the previous single-day record occurred on Friday, November 13, 2020, with 5,444 cases.

In Jakarta, the number of COVID-19 cases rose by 1,273 today, pushing the city’s tally to 130,461, said Jakarta Health Agency Head of Disease Prevention and Control Division.

Of the total number, 8,778 patients are still under treatment or isolation, 119,099 people have recovered, and 2,584 patients succumbed to the illness.
