Indonesia Logs New 4,301 COVID-19 Cases

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – Indonesia continues to log thousands of new coronavirus diseases or COVID-19 per day. 

The government through the COVID-19 mitigation task force reported on Friday, October 16, that as of 12 p.m., there were additional 4,301 cases in the last 24 hours.

The new cases pushed the country’s total tally to 353,461. This was calculated since the first cases of the coronavirus disease were detected on March 2, 2020.

The number of recovered patients as per today, meanwhile, also increased by 3,883, bringing the total recovery to 277,544. The patients were declared cured after the results of their two polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests turned back negative.

The COVID-19 mitigation task force also reported 79 new deaths, adding the total fatality to 12,347 cases.
