Heroes’ Day; President Jokowi Delivers Uplifting Message in Social Media

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Tuesday took to Instagram to commemorate the annual national heroes day (Hari Pahlawan) on November 10. In his post, he called for people to never forget the services of the country’s fallen heroes.

The President posted a cartoon drawing displaying past Indonesian heroes with a line of healthcare workers in its foreground.

“This nation is able to stand tall and continue sailing forward because of the struggles of our heroes,” wrote Jokowi. “They are always present throughout the ages and welcome every challenge.”

Both the President and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin will pay their respect to the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (Taman Makam Pahlawan) in South Jakarta, which is an annual tradition for state-officials to do.

President Jokowi also wrote in his post “Our struggle right now is to break the chain of infection from the COVID-19 pandemic that has emerged in our country for the past eight months.”
