IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin monitored the Covid-19 vaccination at Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School on Tuesday, March 23. He said he was grateful to the government for securing the AstraZeneca vaccine.
The vaccination was held only one day, targeting around 15-200 students and school staffers. “I thank all Lirboyo people for willing to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine,” said Budi as quoted from the ministry’s official page on Wednesday, March 24.
Budi said that amid the current emergency, the best vaccines to use are the available ones. The government must procure various brands of vaccines to meet the national needs considering that not a single producer in the world can meet all demands of big countries, including Indonesia.
“We are grateful for securing AstraZeneca vaccine so that more Indonesians can be vaccinated. We must not be too late to protect all Indonesian people,” Budi remarked, adding that the more people vaccinated increases the support to achieve herd immunity.
Budi Gunadi targeted that all students and staffers of Islamic boarding schools in East Java could immediately receive the Covid-19 vaccine. “So acceptance from the community, especially ulema, is necessary,” said Budi.
