IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – Islam Defenders Front (FPI) lawyer Aziz Yanuar on Tuesday stated that the organization’s leader, Rizieq Shihab, will fulfill police summons as soon as they receive the official letter.
He, however, has yet received the summons until this noon, November 17. “We have not received it. But once we do, Insha Allah (God willing) we will fulfill it,” said Aziz on November 17.
Reports have emerged about the National Police (Polri) planning to summon Rizieq over the alleged health protocol violations that took place during his daughter’s wedding reception which reportedly attracted thousands of visitors.
Besides the FPI leader, the police plan to question every party responsible for the crowded wedding reception amid the COVID-19 pandemic, including the local administration officials and Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.
Previously on Monday, Polri spokesperson Inspector General Argo Yuwono clarified that the joint team of Indonesian National Police and the Jakarta Metro Police would be questioning Rizieq Shihab.
