Firli Bahuri Warns About Fraudsters Pretending to be KPK Officials

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Chairperson, Firli Bahuri, says there are people claiming to be employees of the anti-graft agency to commit fraud and extortion.

“Lately, there are several reports that the KPK received regarding blackmail and fraud committed by people claiming to be KPK employees. This has taken place in areas such as Bengkulu, Bireuen, Aceh, and the latest in Ciamis West Java,” said KPK head Firli Bahuri on Thursday.

According to Firli Bahuri, the fraudsters would often target state officials in rural regions who are allegedly involved in construction projects or even private companies that receive grants from state officials.

Firli Bahuri deemed that this is important to be taken notice as the country will be hosting a nation-wide 2020 Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) and fears that there will be criminal modus operandi making use of the Pilkada momentum.
