IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry said it would respect the legal process related to the arrest of Minister Edhy Prabowo by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The ministry on the other hand also hopes that law enforcement agencies will work professionally.
“We appreciate the ongoing legal process,” the ministry’s secretary-general Antam Novambar said on Wednesday, November 25.
Antam implored the public not to speculate over the case. “Let’s wait together what kind of official information,” he remarked.
Edhy Prabowo’s arrest is allegedly related to lobster seed exports. Antam said the Ministry is still waiting for official information from the KPK, and that Edhy will be given legal assistance in accordance with applicable regulations.
Edhy Prabowo was arrested by the anti-graft body after midnight on November 25, 2020, at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. He had just returned from a trip to the United States. He was arrested along with his wife and a number of ministry officials.
