DPR Website Hacker Raises Objection against RUU HIP

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The official page of the House of Representatives (DPR) at dpr.go.id was allegedly hacked today, June 24, 2020. A Twitter account @AnonConf0rmity claimed it hacked the site and made it unavailable for access.

The self-proclaimed hacker said that its move was a form of objection to the bill of Pancasila Ideology Guidelines or RUU HIP which was considered to threaten or reform the nation’s ideology.

“This is a form of resistance to REFUSING Draft of the Pancasila Ideology Bow (RUU HIP) that can threaten or change COUNTRY’S IDEOLOGY,” the hacker tweeted today at 06.42 p.m. local times.

Tempo observed that the dpr.go.id website was indeed inaccessible since today afternoon. The House deputy speaker Azis has not yet responded to Tempo’s phone calls and messages regarding this issue.

The DPR Secretary-General Indra Iskandar, meanwhile, said that there must be problems with the network, adding that his side was coordinating with the state-run telecommunication firm Telkom to find out the cause.

“I am asking them to create a chronology of the incident. Honestly, I have not known about the cause yet, they are still tracking it,” Indra said via a text message on Wednesday night, June 24, 2020.
