IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto in a statement on Friday voiced his support for the establishment of additional hospitals across military commands and the increased hospital facilities at Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) hospitals.
This was expressed in a speech during the inauguration of an MRI center at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital today. During his speech, the Defense Minister asserted the importance of soldiers mastering the field of health for the success of an army.
“In future wars, major threats to our country will come in other forms, among them biological threats. The current pandemic is actually an alarm bell for us and a reminder to have us focused on medical aspects,” said Prabowo on February 4.
Prabowo also acknowledged the health workers who have been fighting the front lines of the Covid-19 pandemic. He appealed to all personnel at the hospital to always maintain and care for existing facilities.
Head of the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital Lieutenant General A. Budi Sulistya said the MRI center will further improve health services at the hospital, which has the most number of MRI units in Southeast Asia.
