IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The Covid-19 Mitigation Task Force reported that the nationwide development of positive cases in the past week was better than the week before.

As of October 4, there was a decline in the number of people diagnosed with the coronavirus disease by 7.4 percent compared to the previous week.

In addition, the number of fatalities in the last week decreased by 7.7 percent than the previous week.

“Among the good news about the drop in positive cases and case fatality rate this week, it turns out that the recovery rate has also dropped,” said the task force spokesperson Wiku Adisasmito in a virtual press conference via Presidential Secretariat’s Youtube channel on Tuesday, October 6.

In the past week, the recovery rate decreased by 0.9 percent compared to the previous week. “Although it is less than one percent, it means a lot for the public,” Wiku added.

Compared to the global figure on positive cases, Indonesia ranked 137 out of 216 countries with the total number of cases up to 1,120 per one million population.

Indonesia was also in the 102nd position on the COVID-19 mortality rate as it recorded 41 deaths per one million population. For the recovery rate, the country ranked 19th with a total of 232,593 patients who had recovered.
