Covid-19 Task Force Still Allowing Travel Activities on April 22-May 5

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – Spokesperson for the Covid-19 Task Force Wiku Adisasmito confirmed that people are permitted to travel from April 22 until May 5, 2021.

“All travel activities are still allowed with mobility restrictions, [such as having] a negative result of Covid-19 test that is valid 1×24 hours,” said Wiku in a press conference on Thursday, April 29, 2021.

Wiku mentioned that the Eid homecoming ban will take effect on May 6-17, 2021. Travel activities are only allowed for work purposes, urgent family matters, or other non-homecoming purposes. People are also obliged to present a negative Covid-19 test result certificate and a travel permit from relevant authorities. “The two documents will be examined by officers in the field,” he said.

As for tourism activities during the ban period, Wiku underlined that people are also allowed to visit tourist sites in their respective region or agglomeration of their region. He said cross-border travel is prohibited.

“Tourism management and law enforcement officers must strictly implement health protocols, including limiting the number of visitors,” he said.

Wiku went on to say that the travel policy after the Eid al-Fitr holiday or on May 18-24, 2021, will later be adjusted as the Eid homecoming ban is lifted.
