COVID-19: Jakarta Records 1,034 New Cases 3 Days Ahead of Full-scale PSBB

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – Three days ahead of the full scale PSBB social restrictions the Jakarta administration plans to impose, the daily infection rate in the capital has increased by 1,034 cases as of Friday, September 11.

The head of Jakarta’s Prevention and Disease Control Agency, Dwi Oktavia, in Friday’s press release elaborated that the daily PCR test obtained 9,243 specimens which “resulted in 1,034 positive cases and 5,948 negative results.”

The figures have increased the total tally to 52,321 cases in Jakarta with 11,824 patients being treated or under isolation, 1,382 deaths, and 39,115 confirmed recoveries that result in a 74.8 percent recovery rate and a mortality rate of 2.6 percent.

Daily confirmed cases exceeding one thousand has happened multiple times in the capital, with the highest daily cases recorded on September 10 with 1,450 cases. The reasons behind these increases, however, might vary—including from accumulations from previous days or other factors.
