COVID-19 Emergency Response Period Extended in Yogyakarta Until Oct 31

IDNEWSNOW.COM, JakartaGovernor of Yogyakarta Special Province Sultan Hamengku Buwono X has yet again extended the COVID-19 emergency response period until October 31, 2020.

“The emergency response status for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is extended until (another month) from Oct 1 to Oct 31, 2020,” he noted.

The governor, concurrently sultan of Yogyakarta Kingdom, signed the decision to extend the COVID-19 emergency response for the fifth time on Tuesday.

In accordance with the decision, Sultan Hamengku Buwono X has tasked the Yogyakarta vice governor with adopting precautionary measures to prevent and handle dire impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“(The measures) encompass efforts to rescue, evacuate, isolate, protect, take care of, save, and rehabilitate victims,” he explained.

The special province’s spokesperson for COVID-19, Berty Murtiningsih, pointed out that the number of COVID-19 recoveries in the province rose by 54, thereby taking the total recovery count to 1,797 as of Monday (Sept 28, 2020).

The province recorded 39 new COVID-19 cases on Monday (Sept 28, 2020), thereby bringing the total tally to 2,558.

By Sept 28, 2020, a total of 70,899 samples collected from 57,133 people in Yogyakarta were subject to examination.
