IDNEWSNOW.COM, JakartaThe Indonesian Covid-19 task force announced on Thursday, March 25, 2021, that the number of coronavirus cases grew by 2.3 percent in the last week, which prompted the task force to plead the public to not put their guard down and always implement strict health protocols.

“The past week saw a 2.3 percent case growth from 39,801 to 40,728 cases,” said Covid-19 task force spokesperson Wiku Adisasmito on March 25, 2021.

This week alone, Wiku said, 16 Indonesian provinces experienced a rise in the number of cases while 18 provinces record a drop in the number of cases.

“Let this condition be a lesson for us, to not let our guard down at any time and even through times it may seem better,” said Wiku Adisasmito.

The government continues to optimize how the task force handles the pandemic, one of which is the optimization post in 15 provinces that implement the Micro PPKM (micro-scale public activity restrictions) based on the Trade Ministry’s instruction No.6/2021.

He also announced that the government will work with multiple instances such as the National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police in each province along with local Task Force teams.
