IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – The Central Java Education and Culture Agency held a simulation of face-to-face learning activities under the COVID-19 health protocols at seven schools.
“The simulation is carried out in seven schools in Tegal city, Wonosobo regency, and Temanggung regency for two weeks. After that we will evaluate the results,” said the acting head of the Education and Culture Agency, Padmaningrum, in Semarang, Monday, September 7.
The seven schools are State Senior High School (SMAN) 2, State Senior High Vocational School (SMKN) 2, SMA Pius in Tegal; SMAN 1 Parakan and SMAN 1 Temanggung in Temanggung; and SMAN 2 and SMKN 2 Wonosobo.
Padmaningrum explained that the simulation only involved 100 students, while others were still asked to practice online distance learning.
“When we directly monitor the simulation today, the schools have well implemented the health protocols,” she said.
As stipulated in the provincial regulation, the simulation of the offline learning activities started from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. School canteens remain close and students are obliged to commute with their vehicles.
The principal of SMA Pius, Lidwina, said her school had been ready to conduct face-to-face learning activities since the new academic year. “We have prepared the facilities and infrastructure, starting from the students’ and teachers’ rooms, isolation rooms, hand washing stations, hand sanitizers, and body thermometer units,” she said.
As of Sunday, September 6, Central Java recorded 15,351 COVID-19 cases with 10.018 recoveries and 1,084 fatalities.
