Bogor COVID-19 Recovery Rate Slips to 54.04 percent

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Bogor  The percentage of people recovered from the novel coronavirus disease or COVID-19 in Bogor plummeted to 54.04 percent as the city recorded 72 new confirmed cases while only 11 patients declared cured for the past six days.

The city’s Health Agency Head, Sri Nowo Retno, confirmed that the total positive infections reached 457. The number of recovered patients, meanwhile, amounted to 247 or 54.04 percent.

As of Thursday, August 13, the recovery rate hit 60.52 percent of the total 380 cases, meaning that 230 patients were released from hospitals.

The highest percentage was reported on Saturday, July 18, at 72.35 percent. Yet the figure gradually dropped as the local government enforced the pre-adaptation of the new habit period of the large-scale social restriction (PSBB Pra-AKB) beginning August 4, 2020.

Retno then appealed to Bogor residents to maintain discipline in complying with the health protocols of wearing face masks, washing hands with water and soap or using hand sanitizers, as well as maintaining distance.

According to Retno, the previous trend of COVID-19 transmission in Bogor, which was classified as imported cases since many residents traveled to other cities, has now shifted to local transmission and was even generating family infection clusters.
