Anies Baswedan Asked to Map Neighborhoods Classified as Covid-19 Red Zone

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – Jakarta Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) speaker Prasetyo Edi Marsudi demanded Governor Anies Baswedan immediately map neighborhood units as a micro area that are classified as Covid-19 red zone.

The PDIP politician urged the city administration to closely monitor areas that are at a high risk of coronavirus transmission once the total large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) reimposed beginning Monday, September 14.

“It will be dangerous if the red zone is not guarded. Jakarta has been in the red zone for a long time. The most important now is the implementation of PSBB in neighborhood units,” said Prasetyo in a written statement on Friday, September 11, 2020.

He also asked the government to increase the synergy with the Indonesian National Police on the supervision of the red zone.

Anies Baswedan decided to reimpose the PSBB starting Monday, September 14, 2020, in consideration of several factors, including the nearly full occupancy of hospital beds for Covid-19 patients and the high case fatality rate.
