30 Passengers Safe After Train Derails at Kampung Bandan Station

IDNEWSNOW.COM, Jakarta – State-owned railway operator PT KAI Vice President for Corporate Communications, Anne Purba, confirmed 30 passengers were boarding the commuter line KA 1481 that derailed at Kampung Bandan Station, North Jakarta, today, October 30, 2020. 

According to her, all passengers had been evacuated to the station. “And all of them are healthy and safe,” said Anne in a written statement on Friday.

However, she was non-committal about the cause of the derailment, explaining that her side was focusing to evacuate the train.

The officers started the evacuation process at 11: 30 a.m. Anne said it took five hours to complete the train evacuation process, which ended at 3: 57 p.m.

“The train was pulled to Line III of Kampung Bandan station to be brought to the KAI Commuter maintenance facility,” Anne said.
