Weekend Floods Force Hundreds to Leave Home in Jakarta

Jakarta Floods flooded parts of Jakarta on Saturday, forcing thousands to leave their homes following heavy rains in the past couple of days.

Sabdo Kurnianto, the interim head of Jakarta’s Regional Disaster Mitigation Firm (BPBD), stated 379 households or a total of 1,380 individuals had to leave their homes as floodwaters reached in between 0.4 to 1.8 meters deep, primarily in the South and East Jakarta.
