’60 Minutes’ producers introduce a ’10 minute or less’ Quibi series in quote to draw in younger audiences

After teasing the series’ arrival for some months, Quibi is finally all set to release its take on 60 Minutes for the social media generation. What that generally indicates is content customized to the shortened attention periods of viewers on top of which the service has hung all of its hopes, dreams and $1.8 billion.

The new take on America’s earliest newsmagazine goes under the banner “60 IN 6”– somewhat confusing, given that its producers are devoting to a broader definition of short-form content at “10 minutes or less.”

At least, the very first few episodes are timely, provided the current environment in the U.S. Correspondent Wesley Lowery hosts the very first episode from Minneapolis in the wake of George Floyd’s killing. He’ll be sitting down with Floyd’s bro and Reverend Al Sharpton. A subsequent episode functions interviews with the president of the Minnesota NAACP and city government and neighborhood members.

The series premieres 2 episodes this Sunday, exclusively on the Quibi app (which mercifully can now be beamed to a TELEVISION via AirPlay and Chromecast).
