Tea lovers hold Nusantara Tea Festival in Simalungun

Simalungun – Tea fans in Nagori Bah Butong I, Simalungun district, North Sumatra, will celebrate the Nusantara Tea Celebration at Sidamanik Tea Plantation from March 13 to 15, 2020.

The celebration will establish 1,200 camping tents to accommodate some 3,000 participants, Chairman of the Nusantara Tea Celebration Nikson Faisal Sitohang stated here on Tuesday.

Taking part in the festival will be 40 neighborhoods from different locations in North Sumatra province and Aceh province.

Besides being the largest tea manufacturer, Bah Butong in Sidamanik district also has tourist destinations, consisting of ponds and waterfalls, in addition to gorgeous nature, Sitohang said.

He kept in mind that throughout the celebration, participants will learn more about tea plants, tea production, and developing tea.

Participants will likewise take a tour, take pleasure in some artistic and cultural home entertainment, and draw lottery prizes.

Sitohang said he is optimistic that the three-day festival will have a positive impact on the economy of the regional community.

Sitohang also expressed his hope that sellers can provide reasonable prices and will not take too much profits at the festival.
