Wendi, 25, said he could earn up to Rp 10 million (US$67917) each month from farming one shrimp pond in his village at Serdang Bedagai, North Sumatra. He currently handles 3 ponds. He said his existing earnings were a plain contrast from his low profits as a rice farmer 5 years earlier.
