Singapore, Australia Step in to Help Indonesia’s Covid-19 Fight

Jakarta. Close neighbors Singapore and Australia are offering medical help to assist Indonesia battles a dramatic surge in Covid-19 cases.

On Friday morning, two Singapore Air Force C-130 aircrafts left the Paya Lebar air base to provide the initial tranche of medical support to Jakarta. Singapore also rolled out individual protective equipment, consisting of surgical and N95 masks, gloves, and dress.

” As close neighbors and partners, we stand in uniformity with Indonesia in the battle versus Covid-19,” Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan published in his Facebook account on Friday.

Vivian composed that he had talked to his Indonesian equivalent Retno Marsudi earlier today concerning the rise in Covid-19 cases in Indonesia.

” I affirmed Singapore’s support for Indonesia’s efforts to contain the pandemic. We hope that these products will enhance the efforts of those on the frontline in Indonesia,” Vivian said.

According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry in a separate statement, Indonesia is anticipating a total of 1,200 ventilators from Singapore and Australia to show up today. Singapore is also sending out about 256 empty 50- liter oxygen tanks.

Singapore’s delivery likewise consists of the thirty purchased oxygen concentrators. Previously, the Indonesian federal government has acquired 10,000 oxygen concentrators from Singapore, the Foreign Affairs Ministry said.

Among them are the United States, the Netherlands, Australia, Japan, the UK, Singapore.

Indonesia is continuously promoting worldwide solidarity and cooperation amidst the pandemic.

” Nobody is safe till everybody is,” Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi stated on different occassions.
