Jakarta – Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander Air Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto repeated his call to maintain unity in diversity, and interested the entire country to remain watchful to any justification that might threaten the country’s peace and stability.
” To this end, do not let our nation’s unity and oneness disappear or get obscured by justification and ambition, covered with a variety of identities,” he said in a declaration provided to ANTARA in Jakarta on Sunday.
Hadi Tjahjanto once again highlighted the value of supporting the unity in diversity for preserving the nation’s peace and stability when speaking at the TNI head office in Central Jakarta on Saturday.
Tjahjanto was accompanied by a number of military top brass, including the Army Strategic Reserves Command (Kostrad) Commander, Lt.Gen.Eko Margiyono, and the Army’s Unique Forces Command (Kopassus) Basic Leader, Maj.Gen.Mohammad Hasan.
He stressed that the TNI soldiers are the primary instrument of Indonesia’s defense to protect all Indonesian people, and will not let any opponent of the state interfere with the nation’s worthy objectives.
ANTARA noted that both President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and lots of other national political figures, including previous vice president Jusuf Kalla have repeatedly highlighted the importance of upholding the nation’s unity in diversity.
In his State of the Country Address at the annual session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) on August 16, 2019, President Jokowi stressed that unity would help the country discover huge energy to move its whole strength and thoughts towards an advanced Indonesia.
” In this unity, we find uniformity, attention, and the spirit of sharing amongst the kids of the nation.”
The president revealed his strong belief that Indonesia’s unity would stay serene, and by hanging on to this unity of Indonesia’s spirit, this great home would never, ever crumble, nor fall apart, nor disappear.
Rather, Indonesia would permanently stand tall not just for 100 or 500 years in the future but for eternity, he stated.
For previous Vice President Jusuf Kalla, an economic well-being is so important because, with a reasonable success, Indonesia’s unity in diversity can stay undamaged.
