Semarang, Central Java – The Semarang Police warded off an attempt to traffic a delivery of 8.4 kgs (kg) of crystal methamphetamine from Kalimantan to Semarang City by sea.
Central Java Authorities Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi specified here on Monday that a person suspect, functioning as a courier for the 8.4 kg of crystal methamphetamine, was detained while concealing in his boarding home in Sayung, Demak District.
The case emerged following a tip-off from an owner of a truck traveling from Kalimantan to Semarang utilizing MV Dharma Kartika VII. He reported to the cops about suspicious items at the back of his truck.
Luthfi noted that during a joint assessment, the authorities found 8 bundles of methamphetamine weighing 8.4 kg in the truck.
Officers followed up on the findings by analyzing CCTV video aboard MV Dharma Kartika VII at the Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang, he included.

” Based upon the CCTV footage, it can be seen that somebody tossed something into the back of a truck on a ship that was going to dock at the port,” he exposed.
This approach was suspected as a new mode of smuggling methamphetamine, he said.
” When the truck gets off the ship, it is most likely that the criminals would obtain the products from the truck,” he mentioned.
The police arrested Helianto Kosim, 42, a homeowner of East Kotawaringin, Central Kalimantan, who is presumed of being a drug carrier.
The suspect was concealing in a boarding house in Sayung, Demak District.
The suspect came clean that delivery of the illegal goods remained in keeping with an order by an individual recognized by his initial as S, he specified.
Kosim, a former recidivist in a scams case, confessed to having gotten Rp20 million for each kg of crystal methamphetamine that he handled to send out.
