Repeating micro lockdowns would prove more efficient: President

Let us not generalize one city or one district, let alone a province, this will be destructive to lots of people

Jakarta – Indonesian President Joko Widodo has stated that regional interventions, in the type of micro social distancing, which are implemented consistently, can be more efficient in suppressing the spread of coronavirus infections.

” Micro-scale social distancing at the town level, community level, or workplaces, or Islamic boarding schools, I believe are more reliable,” he stated at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Monday.

” Repetitive mini lockdowns will be more efficient,” he stated during a restricted conference, held by means of video teleconference, on the report of the Committee on Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery.

The President asked the COVID-19 Handling Committee to raise awareness about local interventions amongst provincial, district, and local government to control the spread of the unique coronavirus disease.

” Let us not generalize one city or one district, not to mention a province, this will be harmful to many individuals,” he said.

According to data from the COVID-19 Dealing With Task Force, since 12 p.m. western Indonesia time on Sunday (September 27, 2020), the variety of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia has reached 275,213, with recoveries recorded at 203,014 and deaths at 10,386

DKI Jakarta has been listed as the province with the most additional COVID-19 cases, followed by West Java and Central Java. (INE)
