President to plant mangroves with residents of Riau, Riau Islands

Jakarta – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is arranged to go to Riau and Riau Islands on Tuesday to plant mangroves along with the residents and observe the abrasion-affected websites at Wisata Raja Kecik Beach, Bengkalis.

Jokowi and his entourage left from the Halim Perdanakusuma Flying Force (TNI AU) Base in Jakarta aboard the Indonesia-1 presidential aircraft on Tuesday early morning, the Presidential Secretary Press Bureau reported here.

Upon arrival at the Roesmin Nurjadi flying force base in Pekanbaru City, the head of state will continue his trip aboard Air Force’s Super Puma helicopter to head to Bengkalis District.

In Bengkalis, the head of state will plant mangroves together with the homeowners and observe some abrasion-affected spots at the Wisata Raja Kecik Beach.

Jokowi will afterwards return to the Roesmin Nurjadi Flying Force Base in Pekanbaru City aboard a helicopter. From there, he and the group will remove to Riau Islands Province.

After coming to the Hang Nadim International Airport, the president will visit the Setokok community, Bulang Sub-district, to plant mangroves again with the homeowners.

In the afternoon, he together with the group will return to the airport to leave for Jakarta.

State Secretary Minister Pratikno, Presidential Military Secretary Air Vice Marshal M. Tonny Harjono, Presidential Security Detail Leader Tri Budi Utomo, and Presidential Secretary’s Deputy of Procedure, Press, and Media Bey Machmudin accompanied President Jokowi aboard while heading to Riau Province.
