President asks ministries not to create new public service apps

Jakarta – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has actually asked ministries/agencies not to develop new applications for civil services since the electronic-based government system (SPBE) architecture has an integrated system that worries app interoperability.

” The electronic-based federal government system is not about developing brand-new applications. Mr. President provided a directive that we need to no longer produce new applications,” Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas stated here on Monday.

After attending a conference with the President at the Merdeka Palace, Anas notified that there are 27 thousand civil service applications, which makes things difficult for people as they need to produce accounts one by one in each app.

” With SPBE, the apps are incorporated into one interoperability. Mr. President had actually signed the presidential guideline on (SPBE),” he stated.

According to Anas, President Widodo has actually signed the regulation on nationwide SPBE architecture, and it will be followed up by embracing the idea of digital public facilities (DPI).

” This idea is currently a pattern and several countries utilize this for payments, digital ID, and information exchange,” he said.
