Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory ready to receive COVID-19 clients

Jakarta – Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Financial Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan stated Pondok Gede Hajj Dorm Room Emergency Situation Medical Facility in East Jakarta is prepared to get COVID-19 patients.

It will be used to treat clients with serious symptoms or even in vital condition.

He said the emergency situation hospital is geared up with domestically-made medical devices. “I think that’s excellent,” he said.

The minister described that PT Pertamina Bina Medika (Pertamedika), a subsidiary of state-run oil company PT Pertamina in health service, worked jointly with the Jakarta hajj dormitory management to utilize the hajj dorm as a COVID-19 unique healthcare facility.

The facility is completely supported by the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Real Estate (PUPR). The emergency hospital would be run under the management of Pertamina Jaya Hospital (RSPJ) thus it is called as RSPJ Extension for COVID-19

Inhabiting Arofah structure, the health center has an Emergency clinic (IGD) with 24 extensive care system (ICU) beds and 6 non-ICU beds. Rooms for patients are on floors II, III and IV with 16 HCU beds and 104 ICU beds, that bring the overall capability of the extension healthcare facility to 150.

In addition, the medical facility is also equipped with 74 units of ventilator machines, 50 units of High Circulation Nasal Canul (HFNC) and 124 breathing device.

Important medical centers such as main oxygen, unfavorable pressure with hepafilter, x-ray, and scientific labs are also supplied in the health center.

This hospital will support the Health Ministry program to add special beds for COVID-19 patients and is a concrete proof of the contribution of SOEs in managing the vital and extreme pandemic,” stated PT Pertamina Bina Medika IHC President Director, dr. Fatema Djan Rachmat.

Eight buildings at the Pondok Gede Hajj Dorm Room Field Hospital would be utilized for clients that need intensive care, spaces for clients with moderate signs, and a nurse’s dorm.

The rooms zoning would be based upon the danger, air circulation, gain access to for officers, patients, logistics.

One building will be utilized for intensive care, 5 structures to accommodate clients with moderate symptoms, and two buildings for nurse dormitories.
