PBTI explores brand-new cadet athletes through Taekwondo champions

Jakarta – The Indonesian Taekwondo Association (PBTI) observed the potential of cadet athletes from numerous areas, through the 2022 Taekwondo National Championships held at the Benteng Taruna Sports Center Arena, Tangerang, Banten, on December 15-18

” Most provinces have successfully bagged medals, although five provinces, specifically West Java, Jakarta, Central Java, Banten, and Yogyakarta are still dominant,” PBTI Chairperson Thamrin Marzuki stated in a declaration here on Sunday.

Marzuki examined that the strength in the junior cadet classification was more uniformly dispersed.

As of Sunday afternoon, West Java was unshakable at the top by winning 16 gold medals, 9 silver medals, and 15 bronze medals.

Jakarta ranked 2nd with eight gold, 10 silver, and 12 bronze, while Central Java inhabited third location with 7 gold, 7 silver, and three bronze.

While the host province Banten had to go for fourth place with 6 gold, 6 silver, and 15 bronze.

PBTI’s Head of Training and Achievement Fachmy Fachrezzy stated that up until now his side has mapped the structure of athletes who will be selected to match in the 32 nd SEA Games in 2023 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

He has seen a lot of potential for professional athletes in the junior classification, especially in terms of skills and posture, while their physical endurance needs to be enhanced.

” We have actually saved the (names of) professional athletes who will take part in the choice, the requirements and qualifications of the professional athletes selected from the outcomes of the championship games are expected to fulfill our expectations,” Fachrezzy stated.

Professional athletes’ mentality and insight can improve through competing in main occasions with international standards, he added.

To this end, he promised to improve the formula and schemes of training and achievement development, especially in relation to the quality of champions, including inter-regional championships in the following years.
