Nasution declares to install 20,000 surveillance cams in Medan

Medan, N Sumatra – Prospect number 2 for Medan mayor, Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution, made a solemn pledge to set up 20 thousand monitoring cameras as part of his efforts to secure the city’s residents from bad guys and thugs.

Nasution made the pledge while meeting members of the Indonesian Chinese communities in Medan, the capital of North Sumatra Province, on Wednesday.

” When the faces and moves of those wanting to interfere with the city’s security and devoting criminal activities can be monitored through closed-circuit television (CCTV) devices, they will more easily be recognized,” he mentioned.

Setting up the 20 thousand CCTV units around Medan was part of the preventive steps to ward off the criminal activity rate and split the whip on ruffians in Indonesia’s third-biggest city after Jakarta and Surabaya, he said.

Nasution, the son-in-law of incumbent President Joko Widodo, likewise promised to build numerous clusters of parking areas for drivers in response to the propensity of numerous Medan residents to park their motorbikes on the roadsides.
