Minister opens PENA Organization Clinic to support small business owners

Malang, East Java – Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini has inaugurated a business center under the Nusantara Economic Heroes Program (PENA) to support program beneficiaries who have opened small companies.

Throughout a working visit to Malang District, East Java, on Saturday, Rismaharini said the business center will offer assessment services to PENA recipients to assist them develop their services.

” Hopefully, they can update, that the PENA program is able to decrease extreme poverty to more than 90 percent,” she said.

According to the minister, at the PENA Organization Center on Watudakon Street, Malang, PENA recipients will be able to discover monetary management, branding, packaging, marketing, licensing, patenting, and other services.

” In addition, licensing not only covers house market products (PIRT), but likewise covers (authorizations) for export,” she stated.

With the business clinic, it is hoped that PENA beneficiaries, who are primarily homemakers, can establish their companies sustainably, she added.

” The most crucial thing, and what I am worried about is: by the time their income starts to increase, it goes out due to the fact that they purchase different sort of products that they can not manage yet,” she explained.

She recommended that the earnings generated from service be used for long-lasting needs, such as for children’s education costs, emergency situation money for medical treatment, and old age savings.

She stated she expects the PENA Service Clinic to supply education related to financial management to participants.

This monetary education will be carried out in cooperation with the Financial Provider Authority (OJK).

At the opening of the center, at least 100 PENA beneficiaries got education related to monetary literacy and company advancement.

The beneficiaries of the PENA program include active social help receivers in the 20–40 age, recipients of the 2022 Integrated Welfare House (RST), and the 2021 Uninhabitable House Rehabilitation (RTLH) programs.
