Jakarta – The collaboration in between the Communication and Informatics Ministry (Kemenkominfo) and the General Elections Supervisory Company (Bawaslu) is very important to identify political scams concerning the 2024 General Elections, the ministry’s Director General of Public Information Usman Kansong stated.

The collaboration would help the ministry separate between the kinds of campaigns that are allowed throughout the basic elections and recognize hoaxes considering that Bawaslu has the authority over this, he told ANTARA on Friday.

The first is a positive campaign that is normally utilized by political leaders to display their programs and guarantees to the general public and promote a favorable image.

The second is an unfavorable campaign, which is utilized to attack political opponents by exposing information that reveals them in bad light and their unfavorable side. For instance, divulging if a competitor has actually been, at some time, involved in a corruption or legal case.

The last is a black project, which is used to attack political opponents with incorrect info that is not based on realities.

Of these three kinds of projects, positive and negative projects are the ones that are enabled throughout the basic election, he stated, adding that action requires to be taken against black campaigns.
