Indonesia holds trilateral conference with China, Russia

Jakarta – Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi held a trilateral meeting with the Director of the Office of China’s Central Foreign Affairs Commission, Wang Yi, and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at her workplace in Jakarta on Wednesday.

” Indonesia is constantly open to engage and talking about with our partners with the hope that we can add to peace, stability, and success all over the world,” she said during the conference.

She received Wang at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pancasila Structure, Jakarta, around 2: 57 p.m. regional time.

After signing the visitor book, Wang and his entourage held a separate bilateral conference with Indonesia prior to signing up with the trilateral meeting with Russia.

Around 3: 29 p.m. regional time, Minister Lavrov got to the Pancasila Structure with his entourage and was greeted by Minister Marsudi. The trilateral conference started after Lavrov signed the visitor book.

Throughout the meeting, Minister Marsudi stated that Indonesia is open to communication and discussion with anyone.

At the same time, it will constantly be firm and constant in upholding international laws, and all worths and concepts of the UN Charter, she added.

She said that during the meeting, Wang and Lavrov stressed respect for ASEAN midpoint.

Marsudi stated that both revealed assistance for Indonesia’s ASEAN chairmanship. They likewise support ASEAN midpoint, and described the forum held by ASEAN as an extremely strategic one where all crucial players in the region can sit and go over the local scenario.

The Indonesia-China-Russia trilateral conference became part of a series of events arranged under the 56 th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) with discussion partner countries.

China and Russia, ASEAN’s other dialogue partners include India, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, South Korea, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States.
