Government respects legal process at KPK: President

Jakarta – President Joko Widodo affirmed that the government appreciates the legal procedure presently underway at the Corruption Removal Commission (KPK) to manage a case including a state authorities.

” We appreciate the legal process that is ongoing at the KPK. I believe the KPK works transparently, freely, and professionally,” Widodo specified at the Merdeka Palace here on Wednesday.

The president echoed the government’s steadfast assistance to any endeavor to avoid and remove corruption in the country.

” The federal government regularly supports corruption avoidance and removal efforts,” he affirmed.

Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Edhy Prabowo was taken into arrest by the KPK on charge of participation in a graft case related to export licensing of infant lobsters.

” He is supposedly involved in a corruption case related to the export licensing of baby lobsters,” KPK Chief Firli Bahuri kept in mind in a declaration released in Jakarta on Wednesday.

A KPK group jailed Prabowo at Terminal 3 of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang shortly after arriving from Honolulu, the US, on Tuesday night, he said.

Bahuri exposed that the Greater Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Celebration political leader was currently being questioned at the KPK Structure in Jakarta.
