COVID-19: Indonesia logs 3,225 day-to-day cases

Jakarta – The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia increased by 3,225 on Monday to reach 6,653,469, the COVID-19 Handling Job Force informed.

According to information shared by the job force in Jakarta on Monday, the number of individuals who recovered from COVID-19 in the nation increased by 5,864, bringing the overall recoveries to 6,435,851

Based upon the data, the number of deaths increased by 59 to reach 159,735

Organizer of the Specialist Team and Federal Government Representative for COVID-19 Handling Teacher Wiku Adisasmito said that public awareness about implementing the health protocols is essential to control the number of COVID-19 cases in the country.

The deputy for coordinating health quality improvement and population development at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, Agus Suprapto, highlighted the significance of tracing, testing, and treatment (3Ts) to prepare for the spread of the brand-new XBB sub-variant.

” Increase the variety of tests, specifically for those who remain in close contact (with patients) and for those who have comorbidities,” he included.

In addition, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin asked all parties to be prepared for an anticipated increase in COVID-19 infections in the next a couple of weeks.

” We are monitoring it on a day-to-day basis.

Sadikin stressed that the government is continuing to keep an eye on all COVID-19 indications daily in Indonesia.

The government is also conducting sero studies with the Faculty of Public Health (FKM) of the University of Indonesia every six months to figure out the level of antibody titers in the neighborhood.
