Cianjur: Govt mulls increasing financing help for quake-hit homes

Today, we held a ministerial-level coordination conference to talk about a proposition to revise the amount of stimulant funds for earthquake-affected houses in Cianjur.

Jakarta – The federal government is thinking about evaluating the quantity of stimulant financing provided for earthquake-hit houses in West Java’s Cianjur district.

” Today, we held a ministerial-level coordination conference to discuss a proposition to revise the amount of stimulant funds for earthquake-affected homes in Cianjur,” Coordinating Minister for Human Being Advancement and Culture Muhadjir Effendy stated following the meeting, which was held at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Being Development and Culture’s workplace on Monday night.

The conference agreed on a number of points, consisting of a plan to modify the quantity of stimulant funds for repairing homes in earthquake-hit areas, he stated.

” This aligns with President Joko Widodo’s directives,” he said.

The next point was connected to increasing the financing from Rp50 million to Rp60 million for seriously broken homes, from Rp25 million to Rp30 million for moderately damaged homes, and from Rp10 million to Rp15 million for lightly harmed houses.

To accomplish that end, the government has deemed it essential to revise the National Catastrophe Mitigation Company (BNPB) chief’s Choice No. 85 of 2022 concerning ready-for-use funds for reducing the effect of the Cianjur earthquake.

” Ideally, all ministries and (non-ministerial) organizations can act on this in accordance with Mr. President’s regulations,” he included.

The minister said that based on information released on Monday, the earthquake that rattled Cianjur on November 21, 2022, triggered damage to 56,480 homes, with 13,633 houses suffering major damage and 16,059 homes sustaining moderate damage.

He further stated that synchronised efforts are being made to accelerate post-earthquake handling in Cianjur.

” The simultaneous efforts start from emergency reaction, rehab, to reconstruction phases,” he stated.
