Central Java reserves 200 tons of rice to face El Nino

Semarang, C Java – The Central Java Provincial Government has scheduled 200 lots of rice to handle the El Nino phenomenon.

” We have prepared government food reserves totaling up to 200 lots of rice in addition to the low-cost food motion and the food circulation assistance so that the neighborhood can get them at affordable prices,” Head of the Central Java Food Security Office Dyah Lukisari said here on Sunday.

Her workplace has prepared strategies to preserve food materials and arrangement of rice that will be distributed to regions.

” We will disperse it to 770 groups in regions where each group gets 2.2 lots of rice,” she said.

According to her, the federal government’s food reserves will be distributed to the regions based on top priority.

The workplace likewise complies with the State Logistics Agency (BULOG), which has thousands of tons of rice reserves for each district or city in Central Java.

In addition to rice, Lukisari said her side distributes thousands of packages of local food.

As of June 2023, there were still 5 thousand packages of cassava flour noodles being reserved.

” When food rates soar since demand increases, we tackle it with the low-cost food movement and boost circulation facilitation to manage the increasing rates,” she said.

Her side also educates the general public to stop food waste. The Cut Food Waste project is carried out from the school level to the general public.

” In addition to counting on the Central Java Province’s food reserves, there are likewise reserves from BULOG, which have stocks of around 100 lots for each district,” she stated.

Meanwhile, regional stocks of food, such as rice, corn, and cassava, have been reserved for emergency situation situations.

The Meteorology, Meteorology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has forecasted that Indonesia will experience El Nino this year, with its peak in August.
