Jakarta – The Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Board (BP2MI) conducted a search of a three-story house that accommodated would-be ship crew members in Marunda, Cilincing, North Jakarta, on early Thursday.
BP2MI Chief Benny Rhamdani led the search involving dozens of officers from relevant agencies at around 2 a.m. local time on Thursday.
The search took place a few hours after the BP2MI rescued 18 would-be ship crew members evicted from the house owned by PT Abadi Mandiri Internasional.
“As per a report from the would-be ship crew members we had rescued earlier, some 60 other would-be ship crew members are being accommodated at the house,” he stated.
A verbal spat broke out when the officers were denied entry by the house’s security guard.
A display board of PT Rozanna Aziza Wisata engaged in Muslim tour services, ticketing, and special hajj and minor hajj (umroh) services was affixed on the front side.
