Banten receives 18,000 vaccine doses for individuals with specials needs

Serang, Banten – Banten province has received an allowance of 18 thousand doses of the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine for individuals with impairments as help from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) through the main government.

According to Yudistia, the vaccine quota for people with disabilities belongs to a grant from the UAE through its President, Khalifah Bin Zayid Al Nahyan, to President Joko Widodo.

Overall, the UAE has donated 450 thousand doses of the Sinopharm vaccine to Indonesia for individuals with disabilities.

She stated that apart from Banten province, 5 other provinces would receive the Sinopharm vaccine allocation for individuals with impairments: Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, and Bali.

Meanwhile, Banten Deputy Guv Hazrumy stated the provincial government is all set to hold vaccinations for individuals with specials needs using the Sinopharm vaccine grant.

According to him, information from the Banten Province Social Service has actually revealed that currently, there are 27 thousand people with specials needs in the province. He stated the COVID-19 pandemic has had a financial, health, social effect on individuals with disabilities.

For that reason, the Banten provincial government has welcomed all administrators, supervisors, caregivers from impairment centers and the social well-being company (LKS) for people with disabilities to work hand in hand to supply physical access support and assistance to individuals with specials needs amid the COVID-19 pandemic, he added.

Individuals with disabilities can be served in all health facilities/vaccination centers and the services will not be limited to the residence address on ID cards, following the Minister of Health’s Decree relating to the acceleration of COVID-19 vaccination for older adults, individuals with disabilities, educators and education personnel, Hazrumy said.
